When death occurs in their surrounding, children can leave an impression with adults that they more or less affected by the loss they are experiencing, the void that they feel. Thus, the adult does not know how to discuss this life challenge with the child; the adult being upset himself, might not find the words and can trivialize death by humor or by simply not talking about it, in order to protect the child. The child can feel cast aside, misunderstood.

Montpetit & fils, is designed to help the child put words and images on what he is living, whether he knows how to write or not. Give it to a child close to you to help in making him feel less alone in his grief. Some "big kids" also find it to be a source of comfort...

The mourning period following the death of a loved one is often marked by suffering. Many emotions are intertwined: sadness, anger, guilt, etc... Physical discomfort can also be felt, or life may seem absurd...

Being aware of the many difficulties that may arise, we offer you the opportunity to meet a specialized psychologist and member of Les Psychologues du Suroît, free of charge.

All you need to do is make an appointment with the secretary of the funeral home, and we will assume the cost for a total of three consultations for our clients and / or their relatives. These meetings are available within 2 years following death. The consultations take place at their offices located at 43, Jacques-Cartier Street in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield and at 14, St-Jean-Baptiste Street in Vaudreuil-Dorion, for the people of the Soulanges County.
